New Workshop Enables Compliance with Californias Sexual Harassment Training Law

Workshop helps California employers comply with new sexual harassment training law in a non-threatening environment.

(PRWEB) June 22, 2005 -- The clock is ticking for California employers to comply with AB 1825, the state law that mandates employers with 50 or more employees provide two hours of interactive sexual harassment training to supervisors before January 2006. A new onsite workshop from Business Training Media Sexual Harassment: A Managers Role in California assures that employers are in full compliance while at the same time delivering the training in a format that is memorable, thorough, and leaves a positive impression with participants.

"We have received very positive feedback from several clients who have participated in our onsite harassment workshop, said Lela Dennis, a senior lead consultant with Business Training Media. I believe their reaction shows that we are achieving our goal of providing workshop participants with the necessary skills to comply with California's new law in a relaxed interactive environment."

The law casts a wide net as to which employers are covered and which employees meet the definition of supervisors. It requires a minimum of two hours of training that is interactive; includes information and practical guidance regarding federal and state laws; covers prevention and correction of harassment; offers practical examples regarding harassment prevention, discrimination, and retaliation and covers remedies available to victims.

The Business Training Media Workshop covers all of this and more. Participants learn how to recognize harassment, how to investigate complaints, how to enforce sexual harassment policy, and how to create a safe environment where employees can report violations without fear. They also discuss their own companys sexual harassment policies and procedures.

Excellent workshop, said David Richards, a Human Resource Vice President with a large telecommunication company. I received very good feedback from all of our managers and executives who attended the workshop. The information provided was straightforward and easy to follow. We look forward to working with Business Training Media again.

"Our experienced facilitators work to maintain a positive environment, ensuring that nobody leaves the program with a negative impression, said Business Training Media president Myron Curry. By working interactively and energetically with your group, we ensure that our sexual harassment prevention training workshop is non-threatening and enjoyable: two key words associated with effective training.''

The workshop includes participant workbooks, desk reference guides, pre and post test, employee certificates of participation, video presentation and discussion, and interactive group exercises and role plays.
