Detroit, Mich., (PRWEB) October 12, 2005 -- November 30, 2005 marks the Second Annual Celebration of the invaluable partnership between Paralegals and vendors of the legal community. The annual event provides a unique networking opportunity for paralegals, students and vendors as they learn about each others businesses and exchange new ideas further strengthening connections within the legal community.

Following last years success and overwhelming positive response from the more than twenty vendors and one hundred paralegals and students, the 2005 event features several added highlights including the Vendor of the Year and Mentor of the Year Awards (nominated and chosen by peers and clients of the legal community), and a keynote address from the Honorable Barry Howard. Judge Howard made his career as a well-known and highly respected attorney of thirty-one years. He served twelve of those years as Circuit Judge for the 6th Judicial Circuit, Oakland County and additionally, as Chief Judge from January 2000 to April 2001. Judge Howard is currently of Counsel to the law firm of Lipson, Neilson, Cole, Seltzer & Garin, P.C., specializing in alternative dispute resolution, litigation, administrative law, land use, and government relations.

Chip VanAntwerp, Vice President of ARS Litigation Services located in downtown Detroit and a sponsor of the event, looks forward to attending the evening again this year.

"ARS Litigation Services was proud to be a part of the First Annual Celebration of Paralegals and Vendors. We found the event extremely valuable and saw an increase in business through various attendees. The evening is about making contacts within the legal community while re-acquainting with our clients. We look forward to participating as a sponsor again this year, said VanAntwerp.

The evening also provides opportunities for students pursuing careers in the legal field by introducing themselves to recruiters, who in 2004 included Special Counsel and Kelly Law Registry. Jennifer Cote, Chair of Paralegal Studies Program and Mary Urisko, Assistant Director of Paralegal Studies Program at the Livonia campus of Madonna University encourage their students to attend.

Students can never start making connections in the field too early. This event offers a relaxed and enjoyable opportunity for students interested in introducing themselves and learning about the companies that will make their careers more efficient. It also gives them additional knowledge and resources which will aid them in their job searches, said Urisko.

As a special part of the evening, guests can contribute to Lighthouse of Oakland County. Lighthouse is a non-profit organization of more than thirty years servicing those in need of immediate assistance in crisis situations. A representative from Lighthouse will be collecting much needed baby items including: diapers, baby wipes and lotion, formula, bottles, baby shampoo and soap, and blankets. For more information on how you can contribute to Lighthouse of Oakland County, please contact Carol Dobos at 248-920-6060 extension 2121.
