Confidence-Based Learning and Assessment Program Reduces Training Costs, Speeds Learning and Delivers Total Competence. Denver, CO (PRWEB) October 3, 2005 - Knowledge Factor, the market leader in Confidence-Based Learning and Assessment (CBLA), today announced that the Company has been tapped by Colorados largest law enforcement academy at Arapahoe Community College (ACCLEA) to develop a course that accelerates the training and certification of law enforcement professionals. Knowledge Factors unique assessment and training methodology has already proven to be a fast and effective means of ensuring the competency of police officer candidates in some initial tests at ACCLEA substantially reducing the time it takes cadets to learn the subject matter and improving their performance on certifications.
Public safety training is one of the fastest growing segments of the training market today, and one where competence is an absolute requirement, said Kevin Warr, president of Knowledge Factor. ACCLEA realizes this and selected our Confidence-Based Learning and Assessment program to ensure that all of their police cadets are totally competent and prepared before they take the state certification exam.
With Knowledge Factors product, we were training faster and with better results than we ever have, said Debbie Wilke, Chief of Police at ACCLEA. With CBLA, the Law Enforcement Academy can ensure that every student who leaves our program possesses the knowledge and confidence to responsibly and effectively serve the community.
ACCLEA has already seen the benefits that Confidence-Based Learning and Assessment brings to training. In the Fall of 2004, Knowledge Factor developed a police officer refresher course for ACCLEA in response to the organizations need to reduce its training expenses. The objective was to create an online program that could substantially reduce the amount of classroom time students required.
The first group of students to use Knowledge Factors CBLA program had the highest scores in the state and completed what was previously a 20-week course in as few as two weeks. This is because the curriculum is customized for individual learners based on exactly what they know and dont know. Learning time is greatly reduced and results are substantially improved. In the first group of ACCLEA cadets to use the new training platform, the pass rate for cadets at the state exam improved from its historic 72 percent to 100 percent. Furthermore, both instructors and cadets had a complete picture of each persons confidence in the knowledge they were taught.
When CBLA was integrated into ACCLEAs course, we saw a dramatic improvement in scores, added Christine Swenson, Criminal Justice Department Chair. Now we know what our police officers know, what they dont know, and most importantly, what they think they know that is wrong. We can then immediately correct the knowledge deficits so our officers know with confidence all that they need to know to perform well on the job.
Knowledge Factors CBLA program will be integrated into the classroom and online courses offered by ACCLEA. It is being administered for both new police officer training and current officer recertification.
